Posture & Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP)
What is CBP?
Math, physics and biomechanics applied to your spine
CBP combines the principles of mathematics, physics, biomechanics and chiropractic to restore postural alignment through the use of specific mirror-image adjustments, traction and exercises.
DeYoung Chiropractic is proud to be part of an elite group of chiropractors in Grand Rapids, MI that are certified to provide this type of care. Dr. Aaron DeYoung holds his post-graduate certification in Chiropractic BioPhysics, and Dr. Lauren Richards has completed advanced CBP training.

Why posture matters
Correct posture is the basis of the CBP protocol of care
The curves in your spine act as shock absorbers. They are designed to distribute forces evenly and to protect and reduce the forces acting on your spinal cord and nerve tissues.
But gravity, age, poor posture, improper physical activity, injury and disease can all play a role in the misalignment of these curves — and, as a result, your entire body.
Healthy curves → even forces → a protected spinal cord and nervous system
The CBP assessment
We measure first, then build your plan
A thorough posture examination
We examine your posture, spinal alignment and how your body is functioning — not just where it hurts.
X-rays when needed
X-rays are often used to accurately measure your current spinal alignment and identify the areas of concern.
A specific rehabilitation program
Once we know what we're correcting, we recommend a spinal rehabilitation program built for your spine.
What patients notice
Improving patient outcomes and quality of care
It's not unusual that people with poor posture tend to lack energy and suffer from fatigue, experience aches and pains, as well as suffer from headaches/migraines, allergies, asthma, ear infections, reflux, hormonal imbalances, sleeping disorders and high blood pressure.
As a CBP patient, you will not only notice a dramatic decrease in pain and discomfort, but also a greater sense of health and energy.
